We had a nice balance of sightseeing days and working on the blog days, so we put together a list of some of our favorite sights and places to find great filter coffee. Oh, and you can't visit Praha without enjoying a big ol' mug of beer, so we listed some places to sample Prague's beer scene too!
Read MoreThe last stop of the trip with my parents was the city of Berchtesgaden. The setting of this town was by far my favorite, as we got to fully experience the gorgeous Alps. We rode the ferry on Lake Königssee to St. Bartholomä, where my Dad, Bryan, and I attempted a 4 mile hike in the Alps with a ton of snow! We also had a sledding adventure, visited a beer hall, a Christmas Market (of course!), and brined ourselves at a thermal spa, which uses salt from the local mines.

We packed a lot in during our 2 short days here, but we could have used one more day to do a few additional sightseeing. We got a behind the scenes look on how the Sound of Music film was made on our Sound of Music Tour, learned all about Mozart, and toured the Stiegl Brewery. Not to mention, we visited a couple more Christmas Markets
Read MoreThis past December I had a chance to fulfill a dream of mine--visiting the Christmas Markets in Germany. With my parents along for the ride, we explored 4 different cities and really got into the holiday spirit. First up is our post about Munich and Fussen. In Munich, we left feeling we had just scratched the surface of what the city has to offer, but we had a blast visiting beer halls, Christmas Markets, the BMW Museum, and taking an alternative city tour. In Fussen we spent a day visiting the castles Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein where King Ludwig II (akak the Mad King) was raised and the dream castle he never finished. Full of great history, mountain views, and falling snow--our day in Fussen was unforgettable.

We made great friends with our host family on the dog and horse rescue and decided to make another great alteration to our future travel plans...
Read MoreThe city of Edinburgh is full of history and fascinating architecture. We were told the city was full of charm, and we were not let down. We took a Harry Potter tour to see the sites that inspired JK Rowling to write her books, toured the Edinburgh castle, walked around the beautiful parks, and of course did our fair share of eating and coffee shop exploring.
