April 01, 2019 by Lauren Wilson in Thailand

Our month in Thailand went by so fast and everything we saw kept us wanting more! Starting off in Bangkok we loved the cultural change after spending so much time in Europe. It was great meeting up with Suzie in Bangkok and in some other parts of Thailand with her brother Alex too.

Prague, Czech Republic

March 13, 2019 by Lauren Wilson in Czech Republic

After we parted ways from Mom and Dad W, we left Germany and explored Prague for a week. We had a nice balance of sightseeing days and working on the blog days, so we put together a list of some of our favorite sights and places to find great filter coffee. Oh, and you can't visit Praha without enjoying a big ol' mug of beer, so we listed some places to sample Prague's beer scene too!

In Awe of the Alps in Berchtesgaden, Germany

March 05, 2019 by Lauren Wilson in Germany

The last stop of the trip with my parents was the city of Berchtesgaden. The setting of this town was by far my favorite, as we got to fully experience the gorgeous Alps. We rode the ferry on Lake Königssee to St. Bartholomä, where my Dad, Bryan, and I attempted a 4 mile hike in the Alps with a ton of snow! We also had a sledding adventure, visited a beer hall, a Christmas Market (of course!), and brined ourselves at a thermal spa, which uses salt from the local mines.

The Hills are Alive in Salzburg, Austria

March 01, 2019 by Lauren Wilson in Austria

The 3rd city we visited with my parents was Salzburg, Austria. Tucked in between the Alps and many picturesque lakes, this small city is buzzing with charm. We packed a lot in during our 2 short days here, but we could have used one more day to do a few additional sightseeing. We got a behind the scenes look on how the Sound of Music film was made on our Sound of Music Tour, learned all about Mozart, and toured the Stiegl Brewery. Not to mention, we visited a couple more Christmas Markets

Getting into the Christmas Spirit in Munich

February 20, 2019 by Lauren Wilson in Germany

This past December I had a chance to fulfill a dream of mine--visiting the Christmas Markets in Germany. With my parents along for the ride, we explored 4 different cities and really got into the holiday spirit. First up is our post about Munich and Fussen. In Munich, we left feeling we had just scratched the surface of what the city has to offer, but we had a blast visiting beer halls, Christmas Markets, the BMW Museum, and taking an alternative city tour. In Fussen we spent a day visiting the castles Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein where King Ludwig II (akak the Mad King) was raised and the dream castle he never finished. Full of great history, mountain views, and falling snow--our day in Fussen was unforgettable.

Learning to Jig with the Irish

February 06, 2019 by Lauren Wilson in Ireland

An Irish line dancing class was definitely not on our itinerary when we landed in Dublin, but that's the great thing about Ireland...a good time is right around the corner you just have to look for it. We made great friends with our host family on the dog and horse rescue and decided to make another great alteration to our future travel plans...
